Planning to sew a garment or fun project can be exciting, but you must have the necessary sewing tools on hand before you start your project. In this post, I’ll list a few inexpensive items you will need to purchase to get you started.

        Every sewer must have a good iron that gets really and has adjustable settings for different fabrics. This a Shark Professional iron that has an auto-shutoff feature. I am very pleased with its settings.

An 18-inch grid ruler with easy to read lines to measure accurately.

Pincushion and sewing pins are essential together to hold your pattern fabric and store your needles.

Thread Snipper or snips are useful for cutting the ends of the thread after sewing.

Sewing Scissors are important for cutting your fabrics and should not be used to cut paper.  This will ruin your scissors.

Seam Ripper is one of the most important sewing tools you must have to rip out unwanted stitches.
