Missing a sock? I understand. I have plenty of socks that no longer match…but recently I started thinking about what could I possibly make with these old socks. Then, an idea came to me after leaving them gym one day wishing I had something to listen to while I was on the elliptical machine…”I’ll make an armband out of my socks.”
Here’s my simple tutorial on how to make an armband out of socks.
Materials needed:
Sock
A pair of scissors
Needle and thread
Measuring tape
Pins
Lay your sock flat and measure the length you want just below the elastic fabric of the sock (mine was about 4 1/2 inches).
After measuring, cut off across horizontally.
Now cut the top elastic portion of the sock (you will use this to make your pocket for your phone/mp3).
Lay the top elastic fabric on top of the other piece making sure it is centered and pin in place.
Thread your needle (if you are sewing by hand) and stitch in place leaving an opening on top.
